FEAR OF GIVING BIRTH
Giving birth can be a challenging experience that often involves anxiety and intense physical sensations. How we relate to pain and fear, mentally and physically, can impact our labor and delivery experience. By creating a safe space to uncover and work through anxiety, we will look deeply at pain and fear during childbirth and develop skills to cope with them through the birth process.
What are your expectations of pregnancy and childbirth? What stories have you encountered through friends, relatives, or media? Together we can write a positive birth story that will encourage you to be confident in your natural ability to give birth.
Process the end of your journey through pregnancy and birth, leading into your new role as a parent. This is a safe place to discuss any intrusive thoughts or emotional struggles you may face after birth.
Expectant women are not alone in facing difficult transitions throughout pregnancy. The journey toward becoming a parent can be strenuous for your partner as well. Postpartum mood disorders are not exclusive to the birth mother, as fathers or partners can be affected by depression and anxiety.
PRIVATE PRENATAL YOGA INSTRUCTION
Prenatal yoga helps prepare the mind, body, and spirit for birth and early parenting. Through gentle stretching and strengthening, common pregnancy ailments are often alleviated. In addition to the physical benefits, prenatal yoga also prepares women mentally and emotionally for the challenges of labor and postpartum.
